Recently, the high-silicon alloy high-speed casting complete set technology of the Materials Branch of the Central Research Institute of Chinalco has successfully trial-produced A390 high-silicon aluminum alloy on site in Ruimin, Chinalco, marking an important breakthrough in the industrialization of the scientific research achievements of the Central Research Institute of Chinalco. Min will transform from a supplier of strip products to a multi-variety supplier. After testing, the A390 alloy ingot produced has excellent performance, and all the indicators of the product are at the leading level in the market.
A390 high-silicon aluminum alloy has excellent wear resistance, and is an ideal material for high-speed moving parts such as automobile swash plate and piston. However, high-silicon aluminum alloys are prone to problems such as coarse silicon phase and segregation during casting and solidification, which are common technical problems in the field of aluminum alloy materials. At present, only Japanese, Korean companies and one domestic company have mastered relevant technologies. In order to solve this technical problem, the research and development team of Chinalco Central Research Institute has carried out key technology research on related process tooling since 2012, and finally mastered the complete set of technology after nearly 10 years of hard work. In March 2022, Chinalco Ruimin and Chinalco Materials Research Institute signed an agreement on the transformation of technological achievements. Since then, the project team has overcome the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Suzhou and Shanghai, and went back and forth to the processing plant many times to discuss and optimize design and processing. After three months of intensive design, processing and assembly, the isothermal strong cooling high-silicon alloy with complete intellectual property rights was developed. The round bar casting complete set of tooling equipment can realize the batch casting of 24 A390 alloy round bars at a time, and it will be delivered to Chalco Ruimin in June.
